What is a Trekking Instructor?

Hi! I'm Fabiana Rech, a trekking instructor with a heart rooted in nature and a deep love for the majestic mountains around Lake Como, in northern Italy.

With me, you’ll find more than just trails and scenic views — you’ll discover a welcoming and intentional space where parents and children are invited to explore nature together, freely and joyfully.

I’m a certified sports instructor, operating within the official Italian national sports guidelines (CSEN). But more important than any title is my experience on the trail — feeling the wind at the summit, stepping into silence, and watching little eyes light up with every discovery.

What to expect on a trek with me:

🌿 Authentic trail experience: I’ve spent years hiking across Italy and Europe, curating routes that are safe, inspiring, and full of natural beauty.

👣 Personalized guidance and preparation: I’ll help you choose the right trail for your level (and your kids’!), offer tips on how to prepare physically, and share practical advice to make your trek enjoyable and stress-free.

🗺️ Thoughtfully planned routes: Every hike is designed with care. I use maps and other tools to ensure we walk safely and stay on the right path.

🎒 Gear tips and family-friendly advice: From the best shoes to what snacks to pack for your little ones, I’ll pass on everything I’ve learned over time.

☀️ Environmental awareness & safety first: Nature deserves our respect. I pay close attention to weather conditions, prioritize safety, and always promote responsible outdoor practices.

💚 A warm and supportive atmosphere: Every step is a chance to create unforgettable family memories — and a reminder that taking care of yourself matters too. In the stillness of the mountains, we reconnect with what truly counts.

And what you won’t find here:

🚫 Technical climbing or mountaineering: For more advanced alpine activities, I always recommend joining a certified mountain guide.

🚫 Detailed lessons about local flora, fauna or history: While I love stories and spotting wildflowers, I’m not a naturalist or a local heritage guide. My focus is on the joy of walking, exploring, and connecting with the natural world around us.
